Membership

Membership at Astitva is a multi-faceted concept. It includes the following groups:

1. Women and young girls who avail of the various services we offer at membership fees of Rs.10 per month in addition to the nominal service-specific charges.

2. Prospective employers who will thereby support the organisation in its mission, while being able to benefit from a skilled work force.

3. Working women including homemakers, business women & professionals wanting to be a part of the Astitva entity and to share their time / expertise / money / contact networks.

4. Independent women’s businesses that have been set up with financial & technical assistance from Astitva.

All members agree to abide by certain values and principles including intolerance towards violence, dowry and gender discrimination. All members will be helped in opening their own bank accounts and in drawing up proper contracts with their employers. Women’s businesses that Astitva has helped set up, will continue to be recipients of expertise and marketing advice if and when needed.
